The third is the southeast, with the output of 28.1 million tons, accounting for 9.3% of the total national output. The Northeast and the North ranked fourth and fifth respectively, with output of 25.9 million tons and 15 million tons respectively, accounting for 8.6% and 5% of the total national output.
Mato Grosso is the largest grain-producing region in Brazil, and its grain output is expected to account for 29.3% of the country’s total grain output this year. Parana (14.9%), Rio Grande do Sul (13%), Goyas (9.2%), Mato Grosso Sul (8.1%) and Minas Gerais (5.8%) are the second.
